Meliá Hotels International will debut in Austria, in the country's tallest skyscraper.

Last year, the DC Tower opened, and the new hotel is set to open this month. According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the 663-foot-tall Millennium Tower is the second-tallest skyscraper in both Vienna and Austria, preceded by the 492-foot-tall Hochhaus Neue Donau and the 453-foot-tall Vienna Twin Towers.

The French architect Dominique Perrault designed the DC Tower, which offers 360-degree views of the Danubio River and the downtown.

Meliá Vienna's 253 hotel suites will be located on the fourth through 15th floors of the building, including the presidential suite, which will have its own private elevator.

More than 1,000 square meters of meeting and event space will be available at the hotel. According to the announcement, the hotel's restaurant will be on the 57th floor with panoramic views.

According to the group, Meliá Hotels International is one of the world's largest resort hotel chains and Spain's leading hotel chain.

Gran Meliá, Meliá, ME, Innside, Tryp by Wyndham, Sol, and Paradisus are among the company's labels, which operate in 35 countries across four continents. According to the company, Club Meliá is the only vacation club owned by a Spanish company.

The Hilton Vienna Danube hotel was sold by Immofinanz Group for €48.4 million ($63.5 million) to a subsidiary of Frankfurt-based Internos Real Investors Kapitalanlagegesellschaft. According to the firm, the selling price was higher than the book value.

The deal is part of the company's ongoing exit from non-core hotel properties. The Leonardo Vienna, which is also on the market following a completed renovation, is now the only hotel in the group's hotel division, according to the company.

"Following the successful sale of the Grand Hotel Kempinski in St. Moritz in February of this year, this latest transaction brings us closer to our aim of terminating our company in this asset class," said Eduard Zehetner, CEO of Immofinanz Group. "Reserved economic growth projections, low interest rates, and the expectation of many market participants that this situation will not improve in the near future have fuelled demand for prime assets."

The Scandic Hotel Vienna Danube first opened its doors in 1986. With 367 rooms, including 24 suites, it has been a Hilton-branded hotel since 2003. The Hilton group's lease was renewed for another 20 years in 2011.
