MILLION $5.1 (4.2 MILLION EUROS)

Established in 2000 in the town of Fredenbeck, approx 40 miles west of Hamburg, in the north of Germany, this equestrian property of traditionally fired bricks with a regional reed hook roof. qatar properties for sale

The 69-acre property has, apart from the three-bedroom four-bedroom main house, a one-bedroom guesthouse and a stable building with a living room adjacent to the heated 43-by-16-foot pool. A second stable building large enough to accommodate five horses has access to a paddock and a specialized equine field, said the Hamburg Sotheby's International Realty Managing Partner Alexander Stehle, who listed the building.

Granite stepping stones lead to the main door that opens to an airy, double-height foyer. The 4800 square foot home, which was refurbished in 2009, has interiors designed in New York by the Tonychi Studio with heavy wooden beams and Asian arts. Furniture is included in the requested price excluding artworks, Mr. Stehle said.

The hallway opens to an open-plan dining area and kitchen with panoramic windows, ceilings and handcrafted terracotta furniture. The kitchen is built by Bulthaup and includes a cooking island and buffet bar, cabinets and silestone clay countertops and smoked natural oak. There are Gaggenau and Cucineria appliances. Arched glass doors open to the pool terrace, with a barbecue area.

Beyond the curved oak staircase of the foyer, there is a large living room with a wood fireplace with a raised fireplace and a wooden couch typical of local traditional houses, says Mr Stehle. More arched glass doors open to the terrace and double windows overlook the swimming pool and the backyard.

The curved staircase leads to an entrance to all three bedrooms. The main room is furnished with a half-wood paneled ceiling, integrated ebony wardrobes and polished wood floors. The bedroom is flooded with light by four wide tilt-turn windows. The private bathroom is equipped with a black stone shower and a Hinoki tub. A dressing room and spa treatments are also available. The other two bedrooms (one of which is actually furnished as a home office) have bathrooms.

The basement has a wine cellar and storage facilities. The guesthouse is approximately 1,076 square meters long with one suite, a small fitness center and a bathroom with fittings from Dornbracht. The lofted, clean building comprises a summer kitchen, tackle rooms and dining rooms on the ground floor with six beds and a bathroom.

The estate has hurdles and dressage areas, as well as pasture areas and horse training areas. In addition to its riding areas, a property managed by skilled housekeepers and landscapers often includes a reservoir, an open-air orchard and beehives maintained by a professional beekeeper.

Fredenbeck has about 6,000 inhabitants in the region of mild hills, forests and wetlands in the Netherlands, part of which is situated in the larger metropolitan area of Hamburg, a city of approximately 1.8 million inhabitants. There are several shops, restaurants and cultural attractions in the town, alongside the Deinster Geest Golf Club, an 18-hole course in Deinste surrounded by an 800-year old mill. The North Sea coastline of Lower Saxony is known as East Friesland and is around an hour drive away and popular with tourists. The airport of Hamburg is approximately 45 miles north-east.
